What Happens During A Root Canal In Bellflower, CA?

root canal is a dental procedure that involves removing the soft center of the tooth, known as pulp. The pulp is made up of connective tissues, nerves, & blood vessels that help in better growth of the tooth. Primarily a dentist will perform your root canal while you’re under local anesthesia.

Steps in Root Canal Procedure Shaping & Cleaning of Root Canal: Shaping & cleaning of the root canal consists of removing the pulp tissue & debris from the canal. Now the canal is shaped in a way so that we can get obturating material.

Irrigation of Root Canal: Some of the irrigation solutions that are recommended are a physiological saline solution, 30% solution of urea, urea peroxide solution in glycerin, solution of chloramine, sodium hypochlorite.

Medications of Root Canal: There are two intracanal medications usually used, which include calcium hydroxide & chlorhexidine.

Obstruction of Root Canal: Obstruction is a procedure used to seal & fill the shaped & cleaned root canal utilizing a canal sealer and a core filling material. The root canal can be obstructed when it is dry and when the tooth is asymptomatic.

Sealing of Root Canal: Root canal sealers are usually used in concurrence with solid obstructing material to create a proper seal of the root canal system.

Signs You Need Root Canal Treatment • Feeling of immense pain while chewing & biting food • Pimples on the gums • A cracked tooth • Feeling of sensitivity while eating food • Swollen gums • Decaying & darkening of gums

Recovery Process of Root Canal • Some patients may feel minor discomfort even after the recovery process, but you should not feel acute pain • Some patients may feel slight soreness that can be reduced with the help of over-the-counter medication • Even after the whole root canal recovery process, if you still feel the pain, you should contact your endodontist as soon as possible

We have discussed the root canal procedure step by step, along with its symptoms and recovery time afterward. A root canal is considered a healthy procedure. Most people enjoy better outcomes & results after undergoing the procedure once. But still, the results depend on how you take care of your teeth afterward by proper brushing & adopting a good oral care routine. Sometimes a successful root canal procedure is a cause of slight pain for a couple of days. But this pain is temporary & gradually vanishes with time.

Great customer service and attentive staff! My 3 year old enjoyed his visit! Yes, I said he enjoyed it! He had to have X-rays done, and I was so worried that he wasn't gonna be a happy camper but the X-ray tech, Dominique, is so good with kids! The X-rays were fast and painless! Overall a great experience!
